Hisham Al Majali joined USAID SCHEP as Cultural Heritage Resources (CHR) Field Manager in February 2019. Hisham has significant experience in tourism development, capacity building, and awareness raising, and previously worked as a consultant on these matters for SCHEP and Dar Al Memariah Architectural Design House in Saudi Arabia. He also worked with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (MoTA) of Jordan for 15 years. During his service at MoTA he was the Head of the Product Development Department, worked on managing the Karak Castle Plaza, and served as the Director of the Ajloun Governorate Directorate, as well as an Officer in both the Product Development Directorate and the Tourism Communication and Development Directorate.Â
As the CHR Field Manager at SCHEP, Hisham leads field activities and coordinates all project logistical requirements, including maintaining field rules and policies, overseeing and evaluating site stewards, responding to on-call tasks and responsibilities, and overseeing and supporting CHR employees. Hisham also works closely with project leads on capacity building programs, tourism development, and awareness-raising activities.Â
