ASOR Albright Service Award Given to ACOR Board President Randolph B. Old

 

On Saturday November 23rd, 2019, ACOR Board President Randolph B. Old (also known as Randy Old) was awarded the W.F. Albright Award by the American Schools of Oriental Research (ASOR). The Award was presented to Mr. Old at the ASOR Annual Meeting in San Diego, California.

In the words of ASOR, this award serves to honor an individual who has shown special support or made outstanding service contributions to one of the overseas centers, ACOR, AIAR, CAARI, or to one of the overseas committees – the Baghdad Committee and the Damascus Committee. Mr. Old has demonstrated such service through almost thirty years of board service, joining the ACOR Board while living in Amman in 1990, assuming the role of treasurer in 1992, and serving as President since 2011 until today.
