Summer Courts is an AHRC-funded SWWDTP PhD student at the University of Reading in collaboration with Cranfield University and Oxfordshire Museum Services. Her research aims to contextualize the human remains found at Lowbury Hill, Oxfordshire and to provide an updated interpretation of the site. She received her BA in English and History from Royal Holloway, University of London (2017), her MSt in Classical Archaeology from the University of Oxford (2018) and her MSc in Human Osteoarchaeology from the University of Edinburgh (2021). As well as being BABAO Student Representative, Summer is carrying out osteological research on disability in medieval Scotland. In the field, she is part of the Late Antique Jarash project (Jordan) and is undertaking ongoing work on Roman boardgames.
