Kaelyn Van Sluys is an undergraduate student at the University of Alberta, Canada, where she has just completed her second year of study. She is majoring in classics, minoring in anthropology, and working towards achieving the University of Alberta’s archaeological certificate. Kaelyn has been interested in studying archaeology ever since she was very young, and she is eager to continue exploring this field throughout her academic career. This summer, Kaelyn will participate as a student in the 2025 survey season of the Humayma Excavation Project, which will be her first experience with archaeological fieldwork. She is excited to gain as much knowledge and insight as she can throughout this experience. This opportunity marks a significant step in Kaelyn’s journey towards a career in archaeology, and she is looking forward to further developing her understanding and knowledge of her dream profession.
