Heritage Resources Management and Museum
Sara Nedal Aljaber is a third-year student in the Heritage Resources Management and Museum major at Hashemite University. She has a strong interest in heritage conservation and museum studies and is passionate about preserving cultural identity. She worked as part of a team that achieved first place in a competition organized by the Sela Foundation for Training and Heritage Preservation, where they designed an open-air museum for Tamanus Square in Petra. She also participated in a Petra National Trust training workshop on house restoration in Salt. Additionally, she has been volunteering as a facilitator at the Children’s Museum of Jordan and participating in archaeological excavations with the American Center of Research in Khirbet Abdoun. These activities and experiences have helped her to understand the meaning of heritage work on the ground and have broadened her interdisciplinary research horizons. She considers it a great honor to have been awarded the Frederick-Wenger Jordanian Educational Fellowship from the American Center of Research. This scholarship will enable her to expand her knowledge and contribute more effectively to the academic and cultural landscape in Jordan. In the future, she is eager to continue her master’s studies in cultural heritage and museums and to contribute to public education about heritage and antiquities in Jordan.
