Thanks to All Involved with the Sustainable Cultural Heritage Through Engagement of Local Communities Project

7 February 2024

As we come to the close of SCHEP today, February 7, 2024, we just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has been involved in the project over the past more than nine years. The engagement of local communities is widely recognized as key to sustainable efforts in the field of cultural heritage today, which SCHEP has demonstrated well and reinforced for a decade. We hope everyone associated with the project is proud of SCHEP and what it contributed. We believe that cultural heritage and its local communities in Jordan are better off today for all that the project, its staff, and partners — especially the Department of Antiquities and Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities in Jordan — have contributed, and we express our gratitude to all. Our sincere thanks to the generous support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), who funded the project.

As SCHEP’s final contribution, we are pleased to announce the publication of the summary of the past five years’ efforts: )The Story of SCHEP 2: 2019-2024_. It is freely available on our website: https://publications.acorjordan.org/books/the-story-of-schep-2/
