You’re invited to the Jordanian Academics Virtual Edit-a-thon! Seasons change, but the need to update and edit Wikipedia remains the same! Following our Open Jordanian Heritage Virtual Edit-a-thon this past June, we are excited to bring you another Wikipedia workshop on the theme of Jordanian academics. From 9 a.m.–9 p.m. local time (Jordan), we will be sharing resources and fostering online spaces of collaboration for the purpose of helping highlight the innovation of Jordanian researchers on both Arabic and English Wikipedia. Whatever your area of expertise and whether or not you have edited Wikipedia before, all are welcome to join us in this event. All you will need is a computer, internet connection, email and/or Facebook, and curiosity about Jordanian academics and the world of Wikipedia!
Please note that resources will be provisioned such that you can join the event at any point, whatever your time zone. Though our team is based in Jordan, we welcome contributors in the United States and other countries.
Additional details and article lists are forthcoming. You can read more about ACOR’s growing involvement with Wikipedia on Insights (“Open Jordanian Heritage: Wikimedians Share Stories of Editing Online“) or by visiting the Facebook group Open Jordanian Heritage.
