Rami G. Khouri is a Palestinian-Jordanian-American author and analyst whose family resides in Beirut, Amman, and Nazareth. His writing career has focused on analysis of Mideast issues and articles and books on Jordanian archaeology. During his 50-year career in journalism, he has been managing editor of the Jordan Times (Amman) and the Daily Star (Beirut) newspapers and has contributed reporting and opinion pieces from the Middle East to the Financial Times, NPR, BBC radio, and other outlets. He founded and managed Al Kutba Publishers in Amman, Jordan, and the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs (IFI) at the American University of Beirut (AUB). He has been a Nieman Fellow and a Senior Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School, and a Fellow of the Palestinian Academic Society for the Study of International Affairs in Arab East Jerusalem. He is currently a distinguished fellow at the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs at the American University of Beirut (IFI-AUB), a Senior Fellow at the Arab Center Washington, DC, a regular contributor to Al Jazeera, and a member of the Just World Ed board, while he writes books on the craft and legacy of the late Anthony Shadid and a guide to Jordan’s top 200 antiquities sites.
