Rudaina Almomani

Rudaina Almomani holds a bachelor’s degree in cultural resource management and museology. She also received a master’s degree in archaeology from the Hashemite University, where her thesis was entitled “Management and Evaluation of the Tourist Regions in Jordan Using Geographical Information System (GIS): A Case Study: Ajloun Governorate.” Her experience at international research institutes in library management, archiving, and other projects increased her interest in history, so she began her PhD in that subject at the University of Jordan. She plans to discuss the evolution of settlements and planning in Jabal Al-Weibdeh, Amman, between 1900 and 1990 using geographic information systems (GIS). Rudaina’s experience at the ACOR Library and Council for British Research in the Levant (CBRL) library has allowed her to become involved in several research tasks, supporting researchers and PhD students in preparing GIS maps, translating reports from English to Arabic, undertaking historical documentation of archaeological sites or projects, and other tasks. She also co-founded, in 2019, the Amman Heritage Houses project, which documents heritage houses in Amman using the methodology of EAMENA (Endangered Archaeology in the Middle East and North Africa).
