Starling joined the USAID SCHEP team as Communications Specialist in May 2019. In this position, she works closely with the rest of the Communications team to spread the word about SCHEP’s activities to local and international audiences through digital and traditional media, reports, and other materials. Before joining SCHEP, Starling worked as Development Officer at ACOR. During her time with ACOR, she focused on fundraising and communications, developing and implementing a comprehensive social media strategy for the organization. She also planned and carried out ACOR’s 50th Anniversary celebration in Washington, D.C. in April 2019, and was a primary contributor to the 50th Anniversary publication, 50 Years in Jordan.
Starling has worked and completed internships in a number of non-governmental and research organizations in both the USA and Jordan, including UNHCR, the Institute for Middle East Studies at GWU, and Human Rights Watch. She has an extensive background in research, writing, communications, and event management for international organizations. Starling holds an MA in Middle East Studies from the George Washington University and a BA in Political Studies from Bard College at Simon’s Rock.
